Today is the official launch day for my book We're Thankful for the Moisture: A Gay Guy's Guide to Mormon Faith, Family, and Fruit Preservation.

I went with a short title that would be easy for everyone to remember.

If you pre-ordered the book (OMG thnx soooo mach), you should hopefully be receiving it today. Also, I recorded the audiobook and it is now available on Audible so please listen to that and then tell me I sound so cute and hot (even if I don't).

I've started doing press for the book, which is exceptionally fun for I love attention. This morning I woke up at negative o'clock to head downtown for a radio segment on Radio From Hell (X96).

This whole experience is feeling very surreal. I grew up listening to Radio From Hell (the same hosts, even). And today, there I was standing in their studio talking casually with these people about a book I wrote. It was similar to last week when Skylar and I were interviewed on a podcast with The Salt Lake Tribune (Mormon Land), hosted by two journalists I've read and followed for decades.

As the hosts began to introduce us, I had goosebumps rush through me.

Listen. I'm aware I didn't just publish The Grapes of Wrath. I have no idea how many people will actually read this. And I'm not expecting to make enough money to replenish your the college education fund I had set up for all of you and then spent it against my will buying Skylar an ocean of sweaters "you can't wash because it will ruin them."

But it is true that publishing a book of humor essays I'm proud of has been a dream of mine for a long time, and I feel really fortunate to have been able to do that now with the support of a strong ecosystem (the newspaper and a publisher I trust) and a community of Strangers who has hung around this place for so many years reading a regurgitation of essentially the same nine jokes over and over again.

So I'm just completely thrilled with the whole thing, and I'm having a terrific time promoting it.

By the way, if you are in or near Salt Lake City, we are hosting a book launch/Strangerville Live event on February 24 at UMOCA. I'll be doing a reading from the book and hosting a Q&A before signing books for anyone who wants one. You can RSVP at this link.

Anyway, happy book launch day to all those who celebrate (it's a religious holiday).
